Ljubljana, 14 February (STA) - Slovenia will issue on Thursday three-, six- and twelve-month treasury bills worth a total of 84 million euro, in what will be the first T-bills issue this year.
It will issue EUR 51m-worth of twelve-month T-bills, EUR 25m-worth of six-month T-bills and EUR 8m-worth of three-month T-bills.
The annual coupon rate will range from -0.35% to -0.37%, the Finance Ministry said on Wednesday.
The offers were collected on Tuesday, with demand strongly outpacing the offer, according to the data by the ministry, which did not specify for which purpose the money will be used.
Banks Abanka, Deželna Banka Slovenije, NKBM, NLB, SKB banka, Unicredit Banka Slovenija and Jefferies International were able to take part in the auction directly, while other legal and physical persons could submit their bids through them.
This is the second debt issue this year after the government issued ten-year bonds worth EUR 1.5bn in early January.
In 2018, the treasury is allowed to borrow up to EUR 6.3bn to finance current spending and pre-finance debt principals due in 2019 and 2020.
The government decree on the funding of the national budget, adopted in December, caps borrowing for current spending at EUR 2.2bn, with the rest set aside for bond payments in 2019 and 2020.
