Ljubljana, 07 February (STA) - The Italian banking group Unicredit generated EUR 23m in net profit in Slovenia last year, which is 38.9% less than in 2017, Unicredit said on Thursday. Net interest revenue of the group in Slovenia was up by 8.6% to EUR 50m and operating profit jumped by 34.1% to EUR 35m.
The group's net fees in Slovenia dropped by 5.4% to EUR 25m, while its total revenue generated in the country rose by 10.8% to EUR 81m, shows Unicredit's report released today.
The group attributes the drop in profit to a one-off event in 2017, when companies in the group released EUR 21m in impairments and provisions.
The report also shows that Unicredit Slovenija's loans to clients in Slovenia totalled EUR 2bn, while deposits reached EUR 1.9bn.
Unicredit Banka Slovenije accounts for the bulk of the group's Slovenian business, but it also has a leasing and a real estate management arm. Last year, Unicredit had 24 offices in Slovenia.
