Ljubljana, 12 November (STA) - A national strategy on transport infrastructure, which the Infrastructure Ministry has been drawing up for a year and half, will be submitted to public consultation next month and the final proposal should be ready for the government in the first half of 2015, State Secretary Matjaž Vrčko told the InfraKon 2014 conference on Wednesday.
The authors of the strategy believe that the next step should be to draw up an investment plan, which would set the timeline, value and financial resources for specific projects, Vrčko told the conference on the construction of transport infrastructure in Slovenia.
The purpose of the strategy, which includes 132 measures, is to set the course for the development of transport infrastructure, secure stable financing of projects and fulfil the conditions for the drawing of EU funds.
The document will for the first time put all transport sectors from roads and railways to air and sea transport in equal position based on transport, economic and environmental criteria, Vrčko noted.
