Luxembourg, 05 December (STA) - Slovenia saw the fastest growth in the EU and eurozone in the volume of retail trade in October, Eurostat data show. In monthly comparison, the retail was up by 7.9% and it grew by 13.3% in annual comparison.
In the eurozone, the monthly growth was 0.3% and the annual 1.7%. In the EU, retail expanded by 0.1% compared to September and by 2.1% compared to the same month in 2017.
In monthly comparison, Slovenia is followed by Portugal (+2.3%) and Austria (+1.6%). The biggest drops were recorded in Finland (-2%) and Denmark and Sweden (-1.2% each).
In annual comparison, the second placed was Ireland (+8.4%), followed by Lithuania (+7.3%). The list is bottomed by Malta (-2.3%), followed by Finland (-1%) and Luxembourg (-0.3%).
