Ljubljana, 21 March (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output increased by 12.7% year-on-year in January but dropped 1.2% from the month before. Stocks and turnover also increased year-on-year, according to the Statistics Office.
The year-on-year increase in industrial activity was driven by manufacturing (+14.2%), while a slow-down was registered in mining and quarrying (-0.8%) and electricity, gas and steam supply (-0.7%).
Industrial sales revenue in January rose by 15.3% from January, but dropped by 0.1% from December 2017. The most substantial growth, at an annual rate of 35.5%, was registered in capital goods industries.
The value of stocks of finished and unfinished production increased by 0.3% at the monthly level and by 1.2% at the annual level.
