Ljubljana, 31 December (STA) - Administered fuel prices will drop significantly on 1 January. Regular petrol will be 3.5 cents cheaper at EUR 1.183 per litre, whereas the price of diesel will plunge by 5.5 cents to EUR 1.194, the Economy Ministry said on Monday.
The last time regular petrol was this cheap was in the summer of 2016, while the price of diesel has not been this low since September 2017.
The government regulates prices of petrol and diesel sold outside motorways, while prices of premium and prices of all fuels sold at motorway service stations are set independently by retailers, though they are strongly influenced by the administered prices.
The administrated fuel prices are adjusted every two weeks factoring in the price of oil on Mediterranean markets, the euro-dollar exchange rate and biofuel prices.
