Fresh from Maribor, the city which boasts the oldest vine in the world: just recently, Maribor Tourism Board has presented the upgrading of the wine route and the new culinary route, which include the best of what Maribor has to offer in terms of food and wine. Packages include seven restaurants and bars in the city centre and provide a quality and affordable wine-culinary experience.
Maribor is the rising star among Slovenian foodie destinations, with excellent winemakers gaining the highest global wine awards and top chefs, among them also David Vračko, whose restaurant MAK ranked the highest among five Slovenian restaurants on the renowned La Liste.
Maribor Wine Route
The Maribor Wine Route will take you to the best wine cellars and open the doors into the world of excellent Styrian wines. The package includes a visit to the Dveri-Pax Wine Bar, Maribor Wine Cellar - Water Tower, Vinag Wine Cellar and the Old Vine House. The price of the package is 14 EUR (3 suppliers) or 18.5 EUR (4 suppliers).
Maribor Culinary Route
The Maribor Culinary Route includes a visit to Gostilna Pri treh ribnikih, Restavracija 7, Gostilna Maribor and the Old Vine House, where the visitor purchasing the package (the price is 25 EUR) will get a chance to taste several dishes at different providers: each of the providers will serve you one dish of the menu, which consists of a cold appetizers, warm appetizers, main dish and a dessert.
