Ljubljana, 25 October (STA) - The Pivovarna Laško Union brewery, which was established in 2016 with the merger of Laško and Union after the two were acquired by Heineken a year earlier, last year generated EUR 151m in net sales revenue, 1% more than in 2016. Net profit rose by 34% to EUR 15m.
Laško Union's sales on the Slovenian market were down by 2% compared to 2016, as production for store brands was discontinued in favour of own brands.
Sales on foreign markets surged by 13.2%, according to a filing with the Agency for Public Legal Records (AJPES).
Last year, the priority projects at the Laško location was the production of Heineken beer and finalisation of the purchase of filling equipment which meets Heineken standards for cans and bottles.
At the Ljubljana location, the priority projects were the production of cider and replacement of software in the main warehouse.
At the end of 2017, Pivovarna Laško Union employed a total of 592 people.
