Ljubljana, 10 April (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output edged down by 0.2% at the monthly level in February, but increased by 7.2% year-on-year. In the first two months, output rose by 9.5% compared to the same period last year, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.
The value of industrial production was 21.4% higher than the 2015 average. The highest increase in the period was recorded in in medium-low-technology manufacturing (by 28.3%).
At the monthly level, industrial production increased by 2.2% in electricity, gas and steam, but fell by 12.3% in mining and edged down by 0.4% in manufacturing.
Meanwhile, turnover in February decreased by 2.3% at the monthly level and increased by 8% at the annual level.
At the monthly level, turnover decreased in intermediate goods and in capital goods and consumer goods. At the yearly level, growth was recorded in turnover in all three groupings, with the highest increase in capital goods (by 20.5%).
Meanwhile, the value of stocks increased by 0.8% at the monthly level and by 7.7% at the annual level. Compared to the 2015 average the value of stocks increased by 18.7%.
