Ljubljana, 26 April (STA) - Group Telekom Slovenije generated EUR 183.4m in operating revenue in the first quarter of the year, up 1% from the same period in 2017. Following the calculation of corporate income tax and deferred taxes, the group disclosed a net profit of EUR 9.7m in the first three months, which is comparable with the 2017 results.
According to an unaudited report published on the web site of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, the group's earnings before, interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in the first three months amounted to EUR 52.5m, which is a 3% increase year-on-year.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reached EUR 10.3m, up 1% year-on-year.
Telekom Slovenije Group invested EUR 23.4m in the modernization, strengthening and development of broadband fiber optic and 4G mobile networks in the first three months of the year.
The core company, telco Telekom Slovenije, kept its operating revenue level at EUR 165.2m. Its net profit meanwhile shrank by 28% year-on-year to EUR 9.7m.
At the end of March, the state was the biggest owner of the company, holding a 73.51% stake through the KAD fund, Slovenian Sovereign Holding, the pension fund Prvi pokojninski sklad and its Modra zavarovalnica.
