Frankfurt/Ljubljana, 08 August (STA) - Fraport Slovenija, the operator of the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, saw its revenue increase by 18.9% to EUR 22m in the first six months of the year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were up by 50.9% to EUR 8.6m and net profit rose 100% to EUR 3.1m.
Germany's group Fraport, which acquired Aerodrom Ljubljana in 2014 and renamed it Fraport Slovenija in April 2017, posted EUR 1.53bn in revenue in the January-June period, a 13% growth.
The group's EBITDA was up by 9.8% to EUR 461.3m.
Fraport also reports of passenger number rising. A total of 831,000 passengers were recorded at the Brnik Airport in the first half of the year, which is 15% more than in the same period last year.
The company attributes the strong growth to additional flight destinations introduced by flag carrier Adria Airways and higher demand for existing routes.
A drop in the number of passengers was recorded only with flights to Vienna, Belgrade and London's Gatwick.
