Ljubljana, 16 April (STA) - The average gross pay in Slovenia dropped by 1.3% to EUR 1,638 in February over January, but was up by 3.6% compared to February 2017, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
The average net pay dropped by 1.1% in monthly comparison to EUR 1,066.33, but increased by 3.6% year-on-year. In the public sector it dropped by 2.1% between January and February and 0.4% in the private sector.
Average pay was highest in energy supply, amounting to EUR 1,471.87. On the monthly level, the decrease was biggest in mining and quarrying (-23.4%).
Region-wise, the most significant drop month-on-month in the average net pay was recorded in the south-east (-6.8%). The average net pay dropped in all statistical regions in February over January bar central Slovenia where it went up 1.3%, the Statistics Office also said.
