Ljubljana, 15 October (STA) - The average monthly gross wage in Slovenia amounted to EUR 1,669.51 in August, which is 3.5% more nominally and 1.7% more in real terms compared to the same months last year. Compared to July, the average gross wage was up 1.1% nominally and 1% in real terms, the Statistics Office reported on Monday.
The average net wage amounted to EUR 1,082.88, up by 1% nominally and by 0.9% in real terms compared to July, and an increase of 3% nominally and 1.2% in real terms year-on-year.
The average net wage as up by 1.7% in the private sector and down by 0.1% in the public sector at the monthly level.
Net wages were highest in electricity, gas and steam supply (EUR 1,654.18). This sector also recorded the highest monthly increase, of 11.4%.
Wages were above the average only in central Slovenia and south-eastern Slovenia, by 8.2% and 6.5%, respectively.
